Blood Orange?!

Last night I had the privilege of trying one of the seasonal flavors called "blood orange." The toppings that that I added (actually Mike added not me) were strawberries, mochi balls, almond slices and orange gummy bears. He thought that since the yogurt is called "blood orange," adding orange gummy bear would be a good idea. He couldn't be more wrong. Before adding gummy bears as well and M&Ms, you need to remember that these toppings become extremely hard when they get cold. So if you are expecting a nice soft chewy texture, go with mochi balls not gummy bears. Overall the yogurt was surprisingly tasty. Excluding the gummy bears of course. The strawberry with the almond slices make a pretty good mix. Sometimes strawberries can be overly sour especially with non-tart flavors but in this case, they blended nicely with the "blood orange" yogurt. I think the surprise was in the texture of the almond slices. You don't actually taste the almond, which I don't know how that could be a good thing but the crunch was quite nice. As for the mochi balls, I personally could of gone without. I think the yogurt would of been perfect with a heavy dose of strawberry, sprinkled with a handful of almonds. Try it. Let me know what you think.

More to come....

Hello! Welcome to the Yogurtland Experiment.

Hello everyone!

Do you want to know what the best combinations Yogurtland are? I do.  I couldn't find any resources that informed the general public of good combinations so I figured that I start this experiment.  I mean why not? My good friend (practically roommate) is the manager at Yogurtland and he brings yogurt home almost every night.  So without further ado, here we go!

My favorite combination so far has been:

- Original Tart
- Mochi Balls
- Fruity pebbles

This is a great combination because the tangyness of the tart is balanced with the sweetness of the fruity pebbles.  The mochi balls compliment the crunchyness of the pebbles as well as the smooth texture of the yogurt.  It is definitely a must try!
